My 2014 New Year Resolutions

Hello everyone! So today I am here to have a little chat with you about the new year! And I know, shame on me it's been forever since I've last blogged and its already the 19th of January and I'm just getting to my new years resolutions, so this is where I would like to start. My first resolution is to blog more. Now I know that resolutions can be silly and most of the time nobody accomplishes them, but I think it is good to set goals for yourself because it feels amazing to finish them and often leads to setting newer, higher goals for yourself and accomplishing many things that you never thought was possible. I think that blogging more would be great for me because I love to blog and often find myself too busy to sit down and write, but it is such a stress reliever for me and leaves me feeling great and in a much better and more positive mood. My 2nd resolution is to be healthier. This doesn't mean to lose weight (although I wouldn't dislike shedding a few pounds) but instead it means to eat healthier and exercise more. In general I eat pretty healthy and exercise very often but I could definitely do more. I like to have things like eggs with spinach in the mornings and salmon, brown rice and green beans or brussel sprouts for dinner but I do tend to grab a pack of chips and a bottle of juice for lunch most days just out of pure laziness and I love my sweet things like candy and chocolate for dessert and I think that I could try to eat those more moderately. Maybe choosing between the chips for lunch and dessert that night or just ditching both and going for some fruit to kill the sweet cravings. I play for a club volleyball team and have practice 4 nights a week but I could probably be going to the gym the nights I don't have practice for a quick run or some ab workouts. I just think that I'm not at the tip top shape that I could totally be in if I gave just a little more effort. Another health related resolution I've got this year is to continue on with my chicketarian-ism. Starting in the summer I began only eating chicken, and turkey and cutting all other meats out of my diet. I do still eat fish as well but no bacon, hamburgers, hot dogs or anything of that sort. It has honestly been a struggle for me because I am a meat lover but I am really happy with my choice. It leads me to having a much healthier lifestyle. Most of the meats I cut out of my diet aren't the healthiest so when given the option of having a hamburger I usually would say yes, but since I cut that meat out of my diet I have been saying no and going for something like a piece of grilled chicken instead which is a much better choice. Another resolution for me this year is to be more outgoing and try new things, not letting my anxiety stop me. I like to think about scary situations like this: 50 years from now I can look back on this situation. I can either say "Wow, I tried that and loved it, I'm so glad I did!" or "Ooh, I tried that and didn't care much for it, but at least I know now." or I could say, "Man, I wish I did that." To me it is way better to try something and hate it, but know I hate it and never have to do it again then to let my anxiety get the best of me and never know. I'm so proud of myself for already completing this goal this year. This past Wednesday I competed in a DECA competition. If you don't know, DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America and is a business and marketing related club for schools around the US. You can compete against other schools around the state and even the country. It had been something I had wanted to do for the past 2 years but my anxiety stopped me and finally, this year I decided I had enough and competed even though I was terrified. It turned out to be a great experience and I am so glad I worked up the courage to do it. My final resolution to share with you all is to start a you tube channel. This is also something I have been wanting to do for a few years now and hopefully this year I will start. Thank you all for reading my blog I would just like to say I appreciate every single one of you. Tell me in the comments below what your resolutions of 2014 are! Love you all, have a lovely day. <3
