My 2014 New Year Resolutions

Hello everyone! So today I am here to have a little chat with you about the new year! And I know, shame on me it's been forever since I've last blogged and its already the 19th of January and I'm just getting to my new years resolutions, so this is where I would like to start. My first resolution is to blog more. Now I know that resolutions can be silly and most of the time nobody accomplishes them, but I think it is good to set goals for yourself because it feels amazing to finish them and often leads to setting newer, higher goals for yourself and accomplishing many things that you never thought was possible. I think that blogging more would be great for me because I love to blog and often find myself too busy to sit down and write, but it is such a stress reliever for me and leaves me feeling great and in a much better and more positive mood. My 2nd resolution is to be healthier. This doesn't mean to lose weight (although I wouldn't dislike shedding a few pounds) but instead it means to eat healthier and exercise more. In general I eat pretty healthy and exercise very often but I could definitely do more. I like to have things like eggs with spinach in the mornings and salmon, brown rice and green beans or brussel sprouts for dinner but I do tend to grab a pack of chips and a bottle of juice for lunch most days just out of pure laziness and I love my sweet things like candy and chocolate for dessert and I think that I could try to eat those more moderately. Maybe choosing between the chips for lunch and dessert that night or just ditching both and going for some fruit to kill the sweet cravings. I play for a club volleyball team and have practice 4 nights a week but I could probably be going to the gym the nights I don't have practice for a quick run or some ab workouts. I just think that I'm not at the tip top shape that I could totally be in if I gave just a little more effort. Another health related resolution I've got this year is to continue on with my chicketarian-ism. Starting in the summer I began only eating chicken, and turkey and cutting all other meats out of my diet. I do still eat fish as well but no bacon, hamburgers, hot dogs or anything of that sort. It has honestly been a struggle for me because I am a meat lover but I am really happy with my choice. It leads me to having a much healthier lifestyle. Most of the meats I cut out of my diet aren't the healthiest so when given the option of having a hamburger I usually would say yes, but since I cut that meat out of my diet I have been saying no and going for something like a piece of grilled chicken instead which is a much better choice. Another resolution for me this year is to be more outgoing and try new things, not letting my anxiety stop me. I like to think about scary situations like this: 50 years from now I can look back on this situation. I can either say "Wow, I tried that and loved it, I'm so glad I did!" or "Ooh, I tried that and didn't care much for it, but at least I know now." or I could say, "Man, I wish I did that." To me it is way better to try something and hate it, but know I hate it and never have to do it again then to let my anxiety get the best of me and never know. I'm so proud of myself for already completing this goal this year. This past Wednesday I competed in a DECA competition. If you don't know, DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America and is a business and marketing related club for schools around the US. You can compete against other schools around the state and even the country. It had been something I had wanted to do for the past 2 years but my anxiety stopped me and finally, this year I decided I had enough and competed even though I was terrified. It turned out to be a great experience and I am so glad I worked up the courage to do it. My final resolution to share with you all is to start a you tube channel. This is also something I have been wanting to do for a few years now and hopefully this year I will start. Thank you all for reading my blog I would just like to say I appreciate every single one of you. Tell me in the comments below what your resolutions of 2014 are! Love you all, have a lovely day. <3

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow In Shade "Tough as Taupe"

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow In Shade "Tough as Taupe"- Hello everyone! I'm glad that I am getting back into my old routine of things, I was just at Target getting some new products to try out and I will let you know how I like them! This one is an old favorite for me, and I have been using it for a long time. If you watch any beauty videos on YouTube then I am sure you have heard about these. Sadly this is the only shade I have tried but I absolutely love it. I use this as an eye shadow base and it works great. It lasts so long and looks really nice under other colors as well. I would say that if you are using this as a base then you don't even need primer, and I wear primer every single day. The color is beautiful and goes with a lot. Personally, I only wear neutral colors on my eyes and this one is amazing! You can purchase it at the drugstore for a very inexpensive price and it is such a pigmented product that you only need a little bit, so this jar will last me forever! I definitely want to try out some more colors in the future.

Conquering Anxiety

Hello everyone! So sorry that I have been absent for such a long time, it has been a crazy, hectic few months. Just to fill you in I've finally started my Junior year of high school in September and if you are in high school then you know how crazy it can get! Today's post is going to be a little bit different then the others, as I haven't been trying out a ton of new products recently. I don't know why, but I just feel like I needed a little makeup break for a little while and let me tell you my bank account and skin have both been loving it! But not to worry I can feel myself getting back into the old routine of things buying every new product out there! But since I had my little break I wanted to do a deeper more life-related post. It is pretty personal but I wanted to help any of you out there that are going through the same thing as me. For my whole life I have struggled with anxiety but it was never really a problem for me until I began high school. Everything suddenly became a struggle, even the simplest of things that the other kids didn't seem to have any problem with. It made me feel horrible, like I was the only person struggling. Someone who has definitely been an inspiration is Zoe Sugg also known as Zoella. She runs a blog and a youtube channel which I will link both here (http://schoee.blogspot.com/      http://www.youtube.com/user/zoella280390) She made a video about her anxiety that she has struggled with most of her life as well and everything that she said I could relate to. It was so comforting to know that I wasn't the only one out there going through this, and like all of us people dealing with anxiety were in it together and here for each other. Honestly it brought so many people together, even in the comments people were telling their stories of anxiety and others were cheering them on telling them they can get through it and to keep going. She has a quote that has definitely made a difference in my life and I like to remember it every day to help me. "Just say yes" is what she always says. It sounds like such a simple quote, how could that help with anxiety? Well if it is something that you struggle with then you would know that anxiety keeps you from doing things, even things that you want to do. For example if there was something that I wanted to try like a new club or activity even if I really wanted to do it my anxiety would creep into my thoughts and do everything to convince me not to. Just think of all the things that could possibly go wrong. Eventually I would just decide that I didn't need to do it, I was fine without it even though I really wasn't. That is how I would do things before, but now with the help of Zoe that has changed. Remember the quote "Just say yes" and tell it to yourself whenever you feel this way for a little boost of encouragement. It will help I promise. Now obviously you won't be able to get rid of every bit of anxiety by saying this one quote. Take baby steps, try something small before taking a huge step and each time it works it will push you forward and give you a well deserved confidence and a feeling like you can do whatever you put your mind to. I hope that if you deal with anxiety that you will try this and that it helps you be the person you want to be. I love you all.

Sephora Happy Birthday Present 2013

Sephora 2013 Birthday Present
Benefit "They're Real" Mascara

 Sephora Happy Birthday Present 2013-
Hello Everyone! I first want to apologize because the pictures just would NOT cooperate with me no  matter what I did, so this will have to do. I recently went into Sephora to make a purchase and was pleasantly surprised to receive a small gift for
my birthday! I only recently started getting into makeup so this is my first birthday present from Sephora and I have to say I am very pleased
Benefit "Watt's Up" Highlighter
with this gift! First of all it was free which is a huge bonus! It came with a
sample of the Benefit "They're Real" Mascara and another sample of the
Benefit "Watt's Up" Highlighter. I have been wanting to try this mascara for a long time but the price has been telling me that I can live without it. I have never been one to care about splurging on a mascara because I use it every single day and it won't last as long as other things that I could buy for the same price and possibly even like more. Being given this sample was great because I can actually try it without having to purchase it to see what all the hype was about. The mascara wand is very large and I know that bothers some people but I don't have any problem with it. It applies the mascara very nicely and lasts absolutley forever! I am not sure if I will be purchasing a full size once I run out just because I am not picky about mascara, but if I was to buy a high end mascara this would be the one! The highlighter is a stick which I have never tried before until now. I don't like it as much as my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in "Soft and Gentle"(Review Here) but I do think that it is a great product. It gives you a beautiful shimmer while its not too overpowering and doesn't make you look like a disco ball. Overall a great gift, Thanks Sephora!

I would like to add here that in order to receive the birthday gift, you must be a part of Sephora's Beauty Insider Rewards Club. Joining is free and gets you many perks like this one so if you are not a Beauty Insider I recommend you look into it here.

NARS Blush in "Orgasm"

NARS Blush in "Orgasm"-
Hello Everyone! Sadly the summer is coming to an end which means school and cold weather, blech! I am excited for a few things though, tea and sweaters and books and Christmas. Sorry for getting sidetracked, anyways I am definitely going to miss my bright summer colors! One of which (although I will probably continue to wear it through the fall and winter) is my Nars "Orgasm" blush. This blush is so beautiful and the picture doesn't do it a justice. It is such a bright beautiful color that has a little shimmer in it to brighten up your face even more. It makes your skin look great and healthy and is just a wonderful all around blush. The size is great because it will last me forever and is also great at taking on the go, it even includes a mirror on the inside which is super handy. The price for this one was a bit steep and I did lots of debating before I ended up buying it but once I did I am so happy with that decision. This is definitely a new staple in my makeup collection and I recommend it to everyone weather you are just starting to get into makeup or have been for a while. I think it would also look great on all skin tones so you should absolutely give this blush a look next time you pop into a Sephora or NARS counter.

DIY Avocado Face Mask

DIY Avocado Face Mask- Hello everyone! Today I am going to be sharing a lovely recipe for you to make your own avocado face masks! I don't know about you but I definitely put my skin through a lot wearing makeup every day, the least can do is treat it to a homemade mask every once in a while. Avocado is great for you to eat and put on your skin! Putting it on your face is like a deep cleansing where it gets rid of dead skin cells and moisturizes at the same time which can be great for clearing up blemishes and acne scars. Let's get started!

You need:
1 ripe avocado
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of plain greek yogurt

Step 1: Cut up your avocado (1/2 of the avocado is fine) scoop it into a bowl and mash it together until it becomes smoother and easier to work with.
Step 2: Add the teaspoon of honey into the bowl of mashed avocado and stir it in.
Step 3: Add the greek yogurt and stir it in with the rest of ingredients.
Step 4: Mix all the ingredients together until it becomes nice and creamy. Then apply it to your face and neck and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes washing it off with warm water afterwards.

Your skin would love a moisturizer after this as well. I hope you enjoyed this facial recipe, let me know if you try it out!

My Foundation Routine for Summer

My Foundation Routine for Summer- Hello Everyone! I hope you have all been well and have been enjoying your summers! This post is a great one for summer! This foundation routine can be used every day but is focused on keeping your skin matte and oil free for those hot summer days! I have found that this foundation routine stays on all day and keeps me looking oil free as well. I first start out using my Revlon Color Stay foundation for Combination/Oily skin. My skin is combination/oily so this works great for me but I am not sure that the formulas for other skin types work as well for giving your skin a nice matte finish. This is my favorite foundation I have ever used! It has great coverage, excellent lasting power and keeps my skin oil-free! After applying foundation I go to the matching concealer to cover up any blemishes and under-eye circles. These 2 products work great on their own and are both a part of my every day routine but on those extra humid days I will definitely add a powder. The powder that I have been loving is the Covergirl Clean Translucent Powder. Because it is translucent it doesn't have any coverage with it but from the foundation and concealer that is not needed. This powder works great at keeping my skin looking nice and dry, even when it is a bit oily. These products all work great together and do an amazing job at keeping skin looking oil-free, and they are all from the drugstore which is a huge bonus!

Products I mentioned-
